The One-Sided Ledger Fallacy. Hadn't heard that term, but I knew the error involved. Useful!

You have just created a new religion. According to our teachings, we are one of an infinite series of AI-created beings living in one of an infinite series of computer simulations. I hereby petition to be "chief acolyte" or "bishop supreme" or something. I want in. This thing is gonna be yuge! Cult leaders who get in on the ground floor get all the best perks!

You got it, buddy. We will create a whole franchise of meta-religions. The Church of One-sided Infinite Multipliers. Founders receive a form: choose a one-sided force with an unlikely outcome, and write it in Box 1...

Example: Selective Public Amnesia

Clearly, (1) the public exhibits selective amnesia about certain events that have happened right in front of all of us, (2) government, media, and corporations are always perfecting their methods of encouraging us to forget certain events, for their advantage, (3) government, media, and corporations got great advantage out of sending a space crew to the Moon and even walking on it, and (4) the public is already in the process of erasing its conviction that humanity ever walked on the Moon.

Therefore, we will reach a Moon-walk-amnesia singularity in which the entire public has forgotten the Moon walk, and so the stunt will be repeated, for all the same reasons it was first performed. And THEREFORE, it has already happened, and we have been doing it over & over. QED
